DuRoss Confirms Interest in Cary USL Franchise

Rochester Rhinos President Frank DuRoss was a guest Saturday morning on Kick This, a weekly soccer talk show on WHTK 1280 AM in Rochester (listen to the segment -- mp3). During the interview DuRoss confirms that the Rhinos ownership group is "close to being a part of the investment group that would put a franchise in Cary." Later in the segment, a caller poses the concern that MLS may be more interested in the Triangle than Rochester and he would hate to see his Rhinos ownership group pouring money into the Triangle only to see Rochester loose out the opportunity for MLS expansion to their sister organization. DuRoss points out that Triangle Professional Soccer will have exclusive rights to soccer at SAS Soccer Park and that Rochester have much more infrastructure and a proven history that should put Rochester in a better position for MLS expansion. I tend to agree. Update: Link to Rochester Democrat and Chronicle article on this topic.
