US Men Coming to Cary a Month Earlier Than Expected!
v. |
Bruce Arena must love Cary! First, the men trained here in 2002 before the World Cup in Korea/Japan, then they announced their intention to return here in May for the 2006 World Cup training camp, and now US Soccer has announced that Arena is bringing the US Men's team back to SAS Soccer Park a month earlier for one final competitive-match look at his squad before he finalizes his World Cup roster. The US Men's National team is set to take on CONCACAF rival Jamaica in Cary, NC on Tuesday, April 11th. The game against the Reggae Boyz will kickoff at 7pm and will be televised live on ESPN2. Triangle Soccer Fanatics is working with Sam's Army and the USSF to secure a supporters section in the South End. For more information and to sign up to be alerted when ticket/tailgate information is available, please visit our event page at the TSF website. When Chris Economides promised the Triangle some interesting exhibition matches in Cary in 2006 ahead of our new USL 1st Division franchise kicking off in 2007, he wasn't kidding! The chance for Cary to host this match was facilitated by the bonehead decision in Birmingham not to delay the installation of articifical turf in Legion Field where the US had originally wanted to play Honduras on April 11th.
Tickets for the game go on sale starting Friday, March 3, at 10 a.m. ET on-line at ussoccer.com, at all Cary and Raleigh Ticketmaster outlets (including Hechts, FYE, and Publix Stores) and by phone at 919-834-4000. Groups of 15 or more can purchase tickets by calling 312-528-1290 beginning Friday, March 3, at 10 a.m. ET.-- Jarrett @ 2/20/2006 10:34:00 PM |
